the 9’ X 22’ pencil notation in the lower left corner.

Description: C. 19th century hand-carved hardwood butter mold in the shape of a house. Comprised of five separate pieces when disassembled; when assembled they form a box-like shape. Likely Pennsylvania origin, since house has a hex sign near the peak of the roof. This was almost certainly made by a husband for his wife and perhaps is a model of the house in which they lived. Very substantial wood for this very primitive but heartfelt carving.

Description: Beautiful needlework sampler by an 11-year-old Mary Ann
Jones in 1835. A church, house, flowers in vase, a bird, and butterflies are
done in varying shades of green and brown. Mary Ann Jones was the
great-grandmother of Anna Dunnell, a relative of John Henry Dunnell, who
was the nephew of the listed artist, William Page (N.Y. 1811-1885). Page
painted an ivory miniature of Harriett Baldwin, who married John Henry Dunnell.
This sampler and the miniature were purchased at the same Seattle estate.
